Our little graduates!!!

Today it's official!!! Logan and Ellie have GRADUATED from kindergarten and are now considered FIRST GRADERS!!! All who know me know I will still call them kindergartners until the first day of first grade!!! No need to rush these things!!

Their little graduation was cute. They sang a couple of songs and did the regular K-graduation stuff. In the picture above, Logan is holding the letter E, and Ellie is holding the letter R. Her face is covered by the T. The teachers worked hard to make every child a copy of a DVD of the year. Logan has turned it on TWICE since we've been home today!!! And we've hardly been home because we hit McD's play land with a bunch of other kinder-grads to celebrate!! I have the feeling we will have that DVD memorized within a few days!! It does have a darn funny song on it about "I lost the tooth I lost". I have to get my hands on that CD!! Anyone know where they got that song??

Here's one last photo with the kids kindergarten teachers. Ellie with her favorite person on the planet--Miss Kanz. And Logan with his "Kittygarten" teacher, Ms. Pietrzak. She loves cats!! Today we gave her a book called "All cats have Aspergers". This year sure did fly by and the kids have really enjoyed kindergarten!!

Above Logan is receiving his diploma from the principal, Mrs. Young, holding the letter "E", giving his teacher a big hug, and posing with his good pal, Hannah.

Posted by PicasaAbove Ellie is posing with Miss Kanz right after receiving her diploma, sitting on Miss Kanz rocking chair, holding her letter "R", and standing with a bunch of the FUN girls who were in her class.
I once again surprised myself and did not shed a single tear today!!! Maybe I'm not as emotional as I thought I was!! Although seeing Miss Kanz shedding tears at the end of the day yesterday got me going. There's no stopping the clocks, or the calendar--the days keep passing us by one by one. The year we call "Kindergarten" is done for my kids, that milestone is now checked off the list. We tried to savor it the best we could, enjoying the journey. Logan and Ellie have grown up WAY too much this past year, and I shudder to think of how fast the future years will fly by. For now we'll linger in the recent memories of kindergarten. Not to mention--try to somehow wade through that HUGE pile of projects, paintings, writing papers, etc. that I have let accumulate WAY too long!!! That should keep us in the kindergarten mode for a little while longer!!!
Congrats Logan and Ellie!! We are so proud of you!!!!

I can't believe they're done! It's been a fun year + I'm already looking forward to our little reunion. BTW, Ellie's dress is so cute.
