Darin had today off work for the 4th, so he decided to start the party right away, and announced to the kids that they were going "camping". It was pouring rain outside, FYI. So, we camped...our way. First it was pizza for dinner and then roasting marshmallows on the grill out on the deck.....in the rain.
Then the tent was set up in the basement. The kids were so excited to sleep there with their flashlights. We read stories, sang songs, and told them good-night!! Then is was upstairs for a movie for Darin and I. (My kind of camping!!)
This morning before I was even out of bed, Darin and the kids were off fishing at the lake and caught bunches of little fish.
And this afternoon for lunch, it was a picnic up the canyon, a little hike, and playing in the stream.
The kids have loved it all and have said more than once that this is the best day ever--mostly because of the roasting marshmallows and the tent!! Darin and Logan are now golfing--so I think maybe we are "back" from our camping trip??
