As it started to get dark, we began our quest--to catch frogs for the "Frog hopping contest" this coming Saturday. After hours and hours trying to catch one last year--we finally learned you have to catch them at night!!
After a few unsuccessful attempts in the lake--we headed for the pond where we usually see MANY frogs. We put our big ole raft down in the pond and we started to shine the flashlight along the bank. The frogs were everywhere!! It was pretty fun for all of us. Darin guided the raft, I used the net and my hands to catch the little guys, and the kids helped hold the flashlight.
It was a VERY late night for the kids. We kept them up way later than we did even for Lagoon!! This frog-huntin' is important business!! We caught four frogs. Now we just have to figure out how to keep them alive and hopping until Saturday. After the contest Saturday, we'll take them back to the pond.

You guys are always up to something fun! The kids are getting so big....are you ready for them to go to first grade?? Time just goes too fast, that is for sure. Miss you.
Way to go! Good luck at the contest!
We heard all about the frogs yesterday - and now my kids are asking when the contest is - not sure that we'll be out frog hunting anytime soon, though.
