Dusty Darlings!!!

What do you get when you mix Logan and Ellie with their three boy-brother cousins, and an empty spot of earth?? DUST STORMS!!! Monday we had a BBQ with Dave and Em's family--Darin's brother. The kids had a more-than-grand time digging in the sandbox, throwing dust with shovels, picking fruit off the trees, and taking a walk along the canal to an enchanted kids gully. OK, not "enchanted" like a lovely fairytale. But "enchanted" like the childhood I remember. Rope swings hastily made from bailing twine, trails leading to other areas along the tiny stream, acorns falling from the trees, and of course lots of DIRT!!!

These two pictures were taken after we were home that evening. FILTHY kids!!! It's hard to see in the pics just how dirty they were!! Even after showers, we were cleaning dirt from the kids ears and having them blow the dirt from their noses!!

Darin has been looking online at homes with land since we got home that night. YEEHAW!!!!! He's after LAND!!! Finally!!! Thanks for the great evening guys!!!
