Just peachy!!!

Thought I'd take a minute tonight to give a quick update on life. I'm happy to say that things are going just "peachy". No "pits" in sight. I think I'm over the "baptism by fire" stage of working full-time as a long term kindergarten sub. Things are running smoothly at school, and at home now as well. At this very moment I am blogging, and the house is CLEAN!!! We seem to be getting into the rhythm of things. I confess, I haven't cut a single coupon in a few weeks now---but I'm not Wonder Woman!!! (Anyone want some coupons??)

Tonight two VERY sweet gals stopped by to drop off some peaches that I had ordered, but didn't know I had ordered. Small mental breakdown taking place during the ordering phase, on my part. Like I said, "baptism by fire" stage. I think these gals actually just wanted to check up on me, and my current mental state. THANK YOU ladies!!!

So, I am proud to say that tonight I froze nine quarts of fresh peaches. Could have done more, but they are too good---so we had to keep lots to eat right now. It was fun, even therapeutic, to slip the skins off, and play in the goop. I'm not really neat about stuff like this. Darin was giving me "the eye" as he held open bags for me and I slopped a bit on him. And he pointed out that I didn't cut the bad parts off, but I "dug" them off with my fingernails. Whatever!! They still taste the same. I said to him, "Having neatly cut peach slices is nice, but not necessary. It serves no purpose. Just like having a clean floor under the oven is nice. But entirely unnecessary." I had to say this to him, because he also gives me "the eye" when I kick crumbs under the stove.

And just to prove that I am "back on track" with the regular me.....I'll tell you what else I did tonight. I traded the 26 freezer meals that I made this past weekend with other women. And now I have 26 yummy meals in my freezer to make home life even more manageable in the evenings.

Yep, I think life is feeling just "PEACHY".
