Our Thanksgiving Trip to Bainbridge Island !!! (Post 4 of 7)

Getting ready for the big feast!! We took our time all day preparing for Thanksgiving dinner. I helped Ellie make the cute little turkey place cards. The other pics are of Ellie helping Jeff make the crab-stuffed mushrooms, and both the kids helping Malauri with the pomegranate seeds. AND.... drum roll please!!!! ME BAKING ALL DAY!!! I am serious!! I baked more than I think I ever have in my life!! It was so fun being in the kitchen all day with Shari showing me how it's all done!!I helped make apple, pumpkin, and chocolate pecan pies, an exotic fruit salad, homemade stuffing with cranberries, rolls, etc.

Here the kids are on Thanksgiving Day, filling the day with activities while they wait for the feast!! Logan is playing a new game we bought at a little local toy store. Ellie is entertained by uncle Larry making up silly songs. He is such a fun uncle and was so great with the kids, listening to all they had to say and reading all of Ellie's stories. He also took a trip to a couple of beaches with Darin and the kids early Thanksgiving morning. The kids did a few projects throughout the day. They also went with Darin to the church to play in the gym for awhile. The missionaries happened to be there. So they played games with them for an hour or more.

Getting closer to dinner time--but not quite yet!! Time to play Thanksgiving bingo and read some Thanksgiving stories while the final preparations take place in the kitchen.

And.....at last.....time for the long-awaited for FEAST!!! We actually didn't sit down to dinner until around 7:00 in the evening. Sounds late, I know. But it was actually such a fun day taking our time to enjoy it all. And it added to the excitement for the kids. They did great sitting at the table and using the china like everyone else. And they loved that the candles were lit. It was a true feast!!! Sooooo yummmy!!! And such perfect company!! There we the four of us, my sister Shari, her husband, Larry, their two boys Andrew and Jeff, and my niece Malauri.
