Happy Birthday to me and Happy Holiday Traditions!!

Yep, it's my birthday!! And it has been a great day!! Thanks to everyone--family and friends who dropped off or sent the fabulous gifts and cards!! This morning Darin let me sleep in to my hearts content!! LOVED IT!!! And by some miracle he even kept the kids quiet and OUT of my room!! When I did get up--I was greeted by these cute signs and streamers that the kids had made all on their own. And Darin made me a "cake" of yellow pancakes (crepes), complete with a candle to blow out!! Notice the Driscolls raspberries in the background---mmmmmm!!! Darin gave me all my requests for gifts--adult PJ's like the kids ones, with feet and a zipper!!! I am always FREEZING and I have wanted those PJ's!! He also gave me warm gloves, bathroom stuff like bubble bath and lotions. And---he did two projects I have sooooo been wanting to be done. He fixed my cedar chest and our bathroom towel rack, which involved new sheetrock!! THANK YOU DARIN!!!! I love you!!!
Later on in the day we headed in to Salt Lake for some family fun. We had dinner at Tucanos Bazillion Grill. It was fun to have all the meats, fish and pineapple brought around to our table. I was excited that Ellie ate bacon-wrapped turkey, and Logan tried EVERYTHING!! The staff came out with drums and sang a Portuguese Happy Birthday song to me. Only Darin understood it, but the kids were SO excited about it. Logan made sure he told out Waiter more than once that it was my birthday, so we could have the drums!!!
We went to the Planetarium to see "The Light Before Christmas" movie on the big IMAX screen. It was a cute little show. And the kids enjoyed the ball mazes for a LONG time. Here they are through the glass on the second floor of the maze. I'd LOVE to figure out how to invent one of these things for Logan. Obsessed with it, is an understatement!!
We, of course, then rode TRAX down to temple square to catch the lights coming on. It was a quick stop--checked out the lights, the nativity, warmed up inside, and headed back.
Yes, Ellie brought a blanket. Yes, she is still sick and we dragged her all over Salt Lake, including out to ice-cream and shopping after all of this!! I gave her a dose of Motrin at Baskin Robbins!! Poor little, sweet thing!! She was asleep on the way home, and said she was glad we went.
Happy Birthday to me!! And happy traditions for the family--looks like Tucanos and the IMAX are joining temple square on the annual to-do list of holiday fun activities!!! Two years for each place now.
