Today it was our turn to host the "Disney DVD Day" group. We finally decided three days ago that we would do Peter Pan!! We had thirteen kids come and we had a terrific time!! The kids were so good, and so funny!!! Little goof balls.
We paused the movie to serve snacks. You'll notice from the pictures, that our refreshments were a bit drab--all brown or tan--nothing fun and sparkly like pixie dust. So to liven up the snacks, I showed a short clip from the movie "Hook" where the lost boys imagine all the fabulous food they are eating. Then I told the kids they could imagine their snacks to be anything they wanted. And...that if they used their imaginations hard enough, the water in their cups would have flavor!! And sure enough---that water was TASTY!!! (Gotta love invisible Kool-aid.)
We did an art project making Captain Hook's ship flying through the night sky. "Second star to the right, and straight on till morning."
We also made Indian headbands and painted our faces like the Indians and the lost boys in the movie. And we couldn't let a Peter Pan day go by without a little "dust". So we sprayed our arms with fairy dust and sprayed our hair with green sparkly paint.
It was a perfect Peter Pan Party!!! "Think of a wonderful thought. Any happy little thought."
