Mirror Lake on Monday.

Monday was an extension of July 4th--since it was the day everyone had off of work. We decided to head up to Mirror Lake in the Uintahs for the day. It is so beautiful and refreshing up there. And I love it when the kids get so much enjoyment out of being outside, throwing rocks, looking for treasures, and wading in the water. No signs of technology anywhere--LOVE IT!!

We had a picnic and a campfire. We stopped at the grocery store in Kamas and found these gigantic marshmallows. You can't really tell from the pictures, but the are HUGE!! You can't really eat more than one. The kids were little pyros with the fire and long sticks. Guess Logan got tired--he laid right back on a big rock to rest.

Darin fished a lot and helped the kids fish a bit. Ellie picked flowers and collected what she calls, "sea glass". The kids had a great time jumping on rocks, wading, and exploring. Logan totally fell in the water--jacket and all. Luckily I brought extra clothes.

This was my first time to go to Mirror Lake. Sad that I have lived in Utah forever and never been there. Darin and his family love the Uintah's--so he's been up there a bunch for hunting and camping. I think we'll head that way more often now!! FYI--for those in my neck of the woods who think it looks great--take the trip!! It is about an hour and forty-five minute drive. Lots of fun picnic spots, and a great trail around the entire lake.

Aaaahhhh....!!!!
