Just another Day Teaching Kindergarten???!!!

So, as most of you know, I am starting six weeks of student teaching in an all-day kindergarten classroom. I won't be doing most of the teaching until next week. Right now I am just helping out. But I had to write about our first three days with kindergartners. This is NOT the normal first three days of kindergarten!! A couple of our adventures so far are pretty typical--but sheesh--all this in three days!! We've had...

*Two mornings of me physically holding back a child while he screams and his mommy leaves. Leaving tears on my now-very-wrinkled shirts.
*One pooping of the pants.
*One peeing of the pants.
*One throwing up. (Luckily in the trash can.)
*One falling off the monkey bars, resulting in one broken arm.
*One "hell no" from the mouth of one of our little darlings.
*Three kids with brand new colds and runny noses.
*One fire drill.
*One child crying because he has to leave his backpack behind in the pretend burning building during the fire drill. Crying again after the fire drill, knowing if there ever IS a real fire, his backpack will burn.

Yep, just another day teaching kindergarten!! Gotta love it!!
