Thanksgiving 2010. Bainbridge Island. (Post 6 0f 6)

For the second year in a row, we got to participate in the fun traditions that the Whyte family has. We headed to the Christmas Tree farm to cut down a tree. This place is HUGE. Acres and acres of amazing trees. It was raining and almost dark when we got there, so we had to be quick. They picked a beautiful tree. It was home and in the tree stand in no time.

I also got to make wreaths again. I LOVE this tradition. It is so unique and festive!! We cut two kinds of pine boughs, cedar boughs, and holly berries....all from the yard right outside the door. Then we covered the kitchen table with an old sheet, brought out the wreath frames, and let the creating begin!! Andrew helped Ellie make her own tiny wreath. After she and Logan were in bed, he decorated the wreath for her as well. He is such a fun cousin. He went upstairs to take Ellie the wreath in bed. He was gone a long time, and I couldn't figure out what was taking so long. He had been stringing Christmas lights all over the kids bedroom and beds, and they fell asleep under the lights. SO FUN!!

Shari made sweet rolls to eat while we made wreaths. Andrew likes to take pictures and had a little photo shoot with the sweet rolls, wreaths, and hot chocolate. Doesn't it look like the perfect holiday evening? It was. We made seven wreaths in all. I brought one home, and the rest they give away.

Here we are with all seven wreaths the next day. And here is mine hanging on my own front door. I think I did better than last year. It's all just so festive.
A HUGE thank you to Larry, Shari, Jeff, and Andrew for hosting us for an entire week. I know it's a long time to have house guests, and you were nothing but happy and excited to have us. We feel blessed to be a part of a holiday week that has that "family together festive" feel. And blessed to be a part of what was a life-changing week for your family. We love you all and miss you already!!!
