Our little family of four has had a perfect Christmas Eve day today. A little sleeping in, a little playing the Wii, the whole family walking the dog, a bunch of wrapping for me, naps for Darin and the kids....aaahhh. We had a fun family outing today going to the new "Tangled" movie, and playing Laser-tag at the bowling alley. Laser-tag was a first for all four of us, and we are definately fans. Then it was a late lunch at Subway, and home to....wait!! The kids wanted to go to bed at 4:30...for the NIGHT. They are just so excited for Christmas morning. They even took naps to make the day go faster. Silly kids!! Here they are trying to contain their excitement, and watching a new Christmas movie with some snacks.
We watched Luke 2 together. Then we turned off all the lights but the tree lights and sat around the tree together. We each told what we liked best about Christmas, and then each chose a song to sing.
Of course we had to prepare a plate of goodies to leave for Santa...all packaged chocolate for this year. We put a few holiday puzzles together, put frozen sweet rolls in the fridge to thaw for morning, and I made a birthday cake for Jesus. First thing Christmas moring, we sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. Before presents!!! And, the kids left NINE piles of oats and carrots outside for the eight reindeer, plus Rudolph.
I want it to stay Christmas Eve for a WEEK!!! Such a perfect time. Gotta run...Santa has yet to come!!!
