Christmas day was perfect around here. We sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus and ate cake, sweet rolls, ham, stuffing, etc. all day. The kids were as excited as ever opening all the treasures under the tree and trying all the new toys out all day. It was unusually warm outside this Christmas. No snow. So the kids were able to try out their new Razor scooters, Pogo Stick, and Teather Ball Pole. Yep, you will see a new "Little Angel" addition to the family in Logan's stocking. He begged Santa for another one this year. He thought he remembered seeing a little ducky one, but it was a yellow bear. It is by far his favorite gift!! I am serious!! I know the insanity of it all is hillarious--what Santa won't do for the best-loved boy on the planet earth!!
We took naps, did puzzles, played games, and had treats all day. When it was finally bedtime, all too soon, Logan just broke down and cried because Christmas Day was over. It was the final release of all the anxiety, excitement, and wonder of it all. We snuggled til he calmed down. I felt the same way. Long after Darin and the kids were asleep, I sat up doing a puzzle with the Christmas tree lights on.
Ellie got her wished-for, Easy Bake Oven, with a bunch of cookie and cake mixes. She also got two new "American Girl"-style dolls. She was so excited to get matching T-shirts for her and her doll. She got lots of clothes for her dolls, and a huge horse for them to ride on. The kids also got the new Bop-It game, lots of those weird Orbeez gel pebble things, and too many other little things to mention.
Logan, of course loved his new "Little Angel". But he also got a big army Legos set, some games, a few Wii games, and a glow-drawing board. And bunches of other "things" that seem to be all over the house.
Thank you aunt Devarie and Grandpa Sam for the Teather Ball game. I am sure it will be the gift we will still be using for years to come. Thanks to Marilyn for the awesome emergency supply items and DVD's. Thanks to Bonka Don for the art book, and the gift card. Thanks to aunt Rachie for the kids Forgotten Carols book, my new Fontanini piece, and the kids PJ's. We really were so spoiled---we know we are blessed and enjoyed our greatest gifts--each other--all day on Christmas Day 2010. Merry Christmas!!
