"The Yellow Dishes"

These dishes are now mine. These are the "good" dishes used in my family for special occasions like Thanksgiving and Christmas. They have been used in my family since before I was born. Year after year. The past few years they have not seen so much use. With my mom having passed away a decade ago, and the family continuing to grow--there have been fewer special occasion gatherings at the homestead. And now..with Dad remarried and his wife moving much stuff onto the plantation..they need some space. So....I am the lucky recipient of "The Yellow Dishes".

I'm not sure what this means....do I have to cook? Or maybe take-out will look quite elegant on the yellow dishes. We shall see.
I don't know the exact story of these dishes. But I think it goes like this....when my parents were newly married, my Dad's mom started collecting these dishes for my parents. They were sold one piece at a time at the local grocery store. So it took some time to collect the entire set. Truly an heirloom for my family. Sorry to my siblings who may have wished for them. I am more than willing to let you come to my home and prepare a feast for all of us to eat off of the dishes.
P.S. Ellie just saw me loading these pictures onto this blog. She must have thought I was on KSL classifieds or something. She just walked by and said, "You're selling those online? How dare you!!!" Never.
