Backyard camp out...er....in.

Last night Darin had the great idea to have a fire and smores for FHE. Somehow that evolved into camping in the backyard. So we drug out the tent, sleeping bags, blankets, and marshmallows and had a fabulous time. The kids played and played and we had fun roasting marshmallows.
It was the perfect evening, and nice to just chill for a change without the rush of what needs to be done before bed, etc.
At 10:00 I tucked everyone in the tent and headed for my own bed. You'd think I would love the solitude, but I actually had a hard time falling asleep with nobody else in the house. No problem. At 10:40 Logan came to use the bathroom and give me a hug. At 11:30 he came in for good to sleep in his bed. The noises outside, and the slippery sleeping bag were keeping him awake. And at 1:40 Ellie woke up to use the bathroom, so she and Darin came in for the rest of the night too.
It's the thought that counts, right? And the fun four hours before bed. Now, for the tent, mattresses, and sleeping bags that are still not put away.......grrrr. Guess I'll get to it.

So funny that they all came back in! There's something about roasting marshmallows though that kids just love.
