We spent the long four day weekend at the plantation. Darin went on a few bike rides with Dalynn and Devarie, the longest being 42 miles. Dave and Dallon took Ben and Jake to the top of the Wellsvilles early one morning. All the hype and talk about that kept us entertained. And the kids got into a bit of cousin mischief, which is to be expected at these gatherings, I am learning. But our main reason for coming all weekend was to spend time with Dallon and his darling little family!!! Maddie, Savannah, and Kallie are the stinkin' sweetest little girls. Savannah has everyone wrapped around her little finger, including Darin. Kallie is just the tiniest, happy little toddler, and we all adore Maddie Mae!!!
The kids played outside nonstop, in the sandbox, on the swings and trampoline, with Maddie's new kittens, etc. One afternoon we made a slide down the front hill with plastic, and the kids played in the kiddie pool. Of course grandma had Otter-pops and all manner of treats for the kids and adults, all weekend.
Monday we headed to the Hyrum parade. It was the only local 4th of July parade. The city of Logan doesn't even have one. The kids had fun running after all the candy thrown from the parade. It was cute when Savannah was a little scared, and sat with "that big man", Uncle Darin.
Here Maddie is helping Darin was the van. The guys had a car wash going outside. The kids were all pretty tuckered out after all the excitement. Here they are riding grandpas train late Monday afternoon. Heidi had already stopped the train to get Maddie off, because she had fallen asleep. I got pics of Ben, Josh, and Brielle, all zonked out on the train ride. It was pretty darn funny!!
It was a perfect weekend at the plantation, and a perfect time getting to visit with Dall, Heidi, and girls before they were off to their new home in Oregon. We can't wait to go visit them there!!
Happy 4th of July weekend Jones family.
