Fiddlin' around.

It's late. After midnight. The rest of the house is asleep. I just finished watching a movie about a man who has Asperger's Syndrome, "My name is Khan". And while Logan's version of Asperger's is much more mild than the one portrayed in the movie, it has left me with much to think about. A good reminder that I need to take the time to explain things to Logan, especially when he asks. It's funny though. When we do explain something to him....he usually adjusts what we are saying to fit into his view of the world. I guess that's what we all to to some extent. He's our sweet, beautiful boy.
This past Sunday he left right before Sacrament Meeting started, to go use the bathroom. This is a common occurrence, as he dreads the meeting. This time he was gone a really long time, so I Darin went to look for him. He came back with Darin awhile later. Logan was pouting because he knew he was in trouble. On the way home from church I had this conversation with him.

Me: Logan, why were you gone so long when you went to the bathroom?
Logan: I accidentally fiddled around.
Me: (Trying not to laugh out loud that he used the word 'fiddled'.) Fiddled around doing what?
Logan: Overflowing the sink.

Yep, Darin found Logan in the bathroom, covering the sink drain with his hand, and letting the water spill over onto the floor!!!! Took nearly the whole roll of paper towels for Darin to clean it up. The funny part about it is that I am certain that it never even crossed Logan's mind that what he was doing was wrong. I can just see him totally engrossed in the thrill and experiment of it all. Oh the joys!!
