Lagoon Day 2011.

I wasn't sure if we were going to make it to Lagoon this summer. But last week Darin's work offered tickets 1/3 the cost, and we thought we'd better jump on the chance. Ellie and I didn't make it to Lagoon until 4:00, since we were at the Activity Day Girls Day Camp all day. Darin and Logan went first thing in the morning and rode ride after ride after ride until we got there. I was pretty worn out by the time I even arrived at Lagoon. We had decided that Darin and the kids would swim for an hour or two at Lagoon-a-beach as soon as we got there. And I was to have a nice long nap on a pool lounge chair. Didn't happen. It started to rain and blow. They still swam. But I pretty much had to stand under a very small covered area, still getting rain blown on me, while I held our bags. Not even a chair to sit on. Whoa--I was so tired. Not sure why, but I just did not feel well. Here's the only picture I have from Lagoon. They had just finished swimming, and the rain had just stopped. I sent the camera to the car with our bags, after that.
I felt a little better after I had a packet of salt from the fries we order. I am so serious I NEEDED salt. My salt addiction days are coming back to haunt me!! Naomi and Nate met up with us for a couple of hours. It was so fun with little Aleena and Bailey. We just wandered around, going on the rides the kids chose. The weather was beautiful by then. Those little girls are so brave and will go on any ride they are tall enough for. After Naomi and her family went home, we hit a few of the bigger rides. The lines were long by then. We went on "Wicked" and "Colossus". Darin and Logan had already been on all the rides, but it was the first time for Ellie. She was so brave!! I kinda think I was brave too. I don't love that kind of thing any more. I was sick, sick, sick from it all. We headed home in separate cars. Darin took the kids to get a super late dinner. I headed straight home as fast as I could. I rushed in the back door, leaned over the toilet and was sick, got a saltine cracker to eat as I lay down in bed. I didn't brush my teeth, or wash my face. I fell asleep in about three seconds, holding a saltine cracker!!! How pathetic!!!
So, our day at Lagoon wasn't super grand for me. But Darin and the kids did have a fabulous time. And we got more than our money's worth out of the tickets. Darin was teasing me because I was complaining so much about being sick and tired. he thought maybe I needed to play the Pollyanna Glad Game. He was quick to point out a glad thing for me---I don't have to go to Lagoon for another year!!!!
