Those who actually read my blog, may have noticed that the posts have been few and far between the past few weeks. That's because I have been busy transforming an ugly teachers lounge, into a kindergarten classroom. I still have a bit to do, but it's getting better. Here are a few pics.
Everything that I hang on the walls has to be hung with a glue gun. Cement cinder block walls don't hold tape or staples. I talked Logan and Ellie into letting me take a few of their things to school to help brighten up the room. Their puppet theater, and felt board.
It's still not quite complete. Still waiting on some things the school has ordered for the room. But overall, it is a complete transformation from what it was before. I wish I would have taken a picture of that room when it was the teachers lounge, so you could appreciate the difference.
I am finally to the point that I may be able to start working part time. I only teach part time, morning kindergarten. But man, there are some serious hours of work to be done when starting a class up. I am almost on top of it all, and it is working out great. I have 22 students and they are really good kids. Logan and Ellie are really liking it that I teach at the school, and are great about going early with me every morning. I won't have as much free time anymore. But too much free time proved to be not so good for me last school year. So this will be perfect. And what a blessing. For years I have said my ideal job would be part time kindergarten. And now I have it!!!
