Well, the school year has officially been over for us for a week now. The last two weeks of school are a blur. Stuff happened. I was present. No photos to prove any of it though. Logan and Ellie performed with the third grade in a singing/recorder performance. It was really great. They sang and played their little hearts out. They are loving having the recorders at home now. I think I like them having those things? I mean, it's great that they can play the recorder. Yah, that's what I mean. The kids also had their books on display at the Night of 1,000 Stars. All students make their own "real" hardback book each year. It has been great to collect them each year as keepsakes. This year Elli's is a poetry book, of her own poetry. I love it! And Logan's is an ABC book all about third grade concepts they learned this year. Very impressive. I tried to find the books tonight to scan and post, but they are nowhere....which means they are in the kids bedrooms in their piles of bedtime books.
Third grade has been such a great year for Logan and Ellie. Fabulous teachers and experiences. And third grade is just so FUN...they learn so many new things and the teachers provided so many extra opportunities for them....making pilgrim dolls and sugar Easter eggs, learning all about the Solar System and South America, and the last week of school they made posters of their year in third grade. OK, I'll take pictures of those and post them...cause they are pretty nifty!! Loved third grade!! Hate change and moving on.
In other news....I survived field day. Thank goodness for all those who were willing to help. It was not one bit easy to get help this year. It went off without a hitch....everyone had a great time and all feedback was positive. Well good. Now I have some good stuff to pass on to the poor soul who will be doing field day next year, because I am 100% sure it will not be me!! Two years in a row is my max. Too much for my brain to pull off while I am finishing up a year with these little tykes....

My graduated kindergarten class. Twenty total. (And three that had moved away.) Loved this group of kiddos. Darin brought me flowers on my last day with students to say congrats. It's been nine years since I graduated my last set of kinder kids.
