For the big family festivities on the Sunday night before Sam and Marilyn left on their mission, I made a DVD. It was a slide show of all the missionaries in the family. It starts with Sam's mission (black and white photo), and then goes through the eight siblings in the family, who served missions. All six brothers and two of the sisters went on missions. I didn't get the movie quite how I wanted it, and I finished it at 3:00 a.m. Saturday night. It was a little tricky to work on while Sam and Marilyn were staying with us for three nights, because it was a SURPRISE!!
The movie ends with pictures from this past week of Sam and Marilyn in the MTC and getting ready to leave on their own mission. And like the title of their mission blog, (which I have been convincing them to use), the title of the movie is "In this family we serve missions", which comes from a talk by Elder Holland.

Of course, these were my favorite pics from the slide show. Me with Darin at the airport when he is leaving on his mission, and at the airport when he is coming home from his mission!! Oh ya!!!
