Whoa...we had a hoppin' weekend! Friday evening we headed up to Cache Valley, bringing Avery and Ada home. We attended Courtney and Levi's wedding reception. Funny thing....not even 30 minutes before the reception was scheduled to start....Levi was at the homestead loading motorcycles for the bride and groom to ride. Whew...no worries about us being late...since the groom is still here with us!!
After the reception, we met a bunch of the Jones family at The Olive Garden for a late dinner.

Saturday morning we were able to attend Sydnee's baptism. Bryan baptised her and was of course, wearing his emotions on his sleeve. He adores that little girl of his! And we are excited to get to know her more all the time.

Saturday morning we were able to attend Sydnee's baptism. Bryan baptised her and was of course, wearing his emotions on his sleeve. He adores that little girl of his! And we are excited to get to know her more all the time.
We had an early lunch at Sydnee's house. Bryan and his ex-wife, Dana, have one of the best divorced relationships I have known. I am so impressed with how they work things out together, and Sydnee is the one who benefits. One of her dads baptised her, her other dad confirmed her. Her mom, Dana, gave a bio on Sydnee and listed Amy as one of Syd's parents. So thoughtful. It's not too often your entire family gets invited to your new brother-in-law's ex-wife's home for a meal. It was great.
Here's a shot of Amy and her fam, on Sydnee's big day. And a few shots from a photo shoot I tried to do with Naomi's kids. Cute 4th of July outfits from Aunt Rachie.

After the baptism, I made a quick stop at a park where part of my high school reunion was happening. Then it was time to play with the cousins. We played at Ammon's place for awhile with the Daugs cousins. The kids loved their pool. (We didn't now until LATER that they have a 3 kid rule in the pool. Ooops!!) Naomi, Rachel, Christy, and I were entertained by Cole trying to eat a popscicle!!

Saturday night was my TWENTY YEAR HIGH SCHOOL REUNION!!! Holy smokes.....how did I get that old!! It was a great reunion. Yummy food, awesome entertainment including a slide show and real video footage from high school, and the BEST friends ever!! I was able to talk and reconnect with so many people. Most of the women I recognized right off. Lots of the men looked a lot different. Darin agreed to go with me after I begged him....he hates these kinds of things. We sat at a table with Terry T. and my best school friends, Sarah D. and Carla B. I was so happy to see Kim O., Tonya H., Kathryn C., and Kathy Cook!! It has been seventeen years since I have seen Kathy. We both teared up and it was like it was twenty years ago. It was like that for all of my good friends. Those 12 years of school really do impact the rest of your life. I was so lucky to have fabulous friends!!

I didn't get near enough pictures...wish I had taken more of other people. Steph. K. Steph O. Aaaron T. Nicole P. Marci A. Tiffany F. Stock L. John B. Suzy L. And on and on. What a blast!!

Sunday it was sleeping in (Thank heavens!! And thank you Rachel!!) The church, where we got to sit with Little Miss Savannah who was begging to sit by Darin, and fell asleep on my lap. Then a two hour drive and catch up time with Amy. (Finally!! We never have any time together and now she insists on MOVING!!)

Then it was dinner at the Jones plantation. A special dinner too...the last one at the house with Sam and Marilyn until after their mission!! We felt lucky to be able to be in Cache Valley this weekend and spend a little more time with "the parents". Sunday night we were able to attend the meeting with the stake president, and Sam and Marilyn were set apart as full-time missionaries. Today they entered the MTC. More on the mission in a later post.
Dallon and Heidi have officially moved into the plantation house. They will be the resident livers and care-takers while Sam and Marilyn are gone for two years. Dallon starts as an ER doc at Logan Regional, tomorrow. They are due to have a baby in less than a month. Their three girls are thrilled to have so many family members bustling around them. Logan and Ellie had fun playing with them for a few hours. We are so excited that they finally live in Utah!!!
Sunday night we finally headed home around 9:00. This fire was burning as we left. Seems the entire state is on fire!! It was amazing to watch. Hope it's out by now.
Yep, it was a whirlwind weekend in Cache Valley!! So fun!! All of it!!
