Yep, we had Halloween!

I guess we've been busy. Because I haven't blogged the Halloween celebrating for days and weeks before Halloween like in years past. I think it's because we have been so busy enjoying this AMAZING AUTUMN that we've been having!! Such perfect weather and fall colors this year!!
But we did have Halloween, eventually. Did the traditional carving.

Talked about costumes for months! The kids decided on vampires this year. Boo-hoo! I like the sweet side of Halloween. Don't love the gore so much. After the first night of costumes for Trunk-or-treat, they both decided they did NOT like the face make-up. So no make-up on Halloween night, and Ellie decided to wear her Nutcracker mouse costume to trick-or-treat. Boy am I glad I didn't buy the $189 vampiress costume she wanted! I scored both these vampire costumes for few bucks at our second-hand kids clothing store1

And after several YEARS of Ellie begging, I finally gave in to doing a few scary decorations on the front porch. They went up Halloween day and came down the next day. It's just not my thing. But Ellie and Logan loved it all!!

We brought our tiny tot friends with us to Trunk-or-Treat. Natalie and Kate. (And their sweet mama too!)

And we babysat the little princesses on Halloween and they did a little trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. Natalie found Ellie's pink princess dress and insisted she wear that instead of her pink ballerina one. She is one determined, and one tiny girl! So I very quickly hemmed the dress with duct tape.

And just for fun, here is Ellie in the same dress on Halloween a few years back. Natalie is three and one month here, and Ellie is three and seven months. Pretty little princesses!

I think we are all sick to death of Halloween candy after the past three days of it. The kids dumped and sorted and traded their candy several times......I love that memory. They also split and trick-or-treated with two separate groups of friends this year. Darin stayed home and passed out candy and I went with Nat and Kate. Darin did take the kids back out together later on. I think next year we will cabosh the splitting with friends idea and go out as a family like the past nine years!! They will NOT grow up!!
Happy Halloween!
