We spent the weekend in Cache Valley to do a little celebrating with the Daugs fam. We stayed at Rachel's. Home sweet home.....I love going there! Rachel had a fun evening planned with the cousins, and Darin and I went to dinner and did a little shopping. Logan and Ellie were super happy to get to spend time with their Daugs cousins. You can see Ellie and Aleena are eating a grilled cheese sandwich. I'm pretty sure Rachel made grilled cheese for the kids at least three times while we were there.

The kids decorated sugar cookies and made painted glass ball ornaments.

About the time Darin and I got back, the power went out. Thank goodness for the wood stove. And the same wool blankets I used when I was growing up in those bedrooms. But even with that, it was a mighty chilly night upstairs trying to sleep. Ellie and Aleena warmed their toes with Rach, and Darin made a run to the store for flashlights for the kids to sleep with.

Krumcake. Made fresh by Rachel while I slept Saturday morning. Takes me right back to being a kid in that very house!
And talk about childhood and memories of my mom.....Rachel made this for my birthday! Angel food cake with fluffy frosting. I had it every birthday until I was an adult, and a few years after that when I was home for my birthday.

Saturday afternoon/evening was the Daugs family Christmas party. Ammon and Alison hosted at their house for the 50 plus guests. Man alive our family is getting huge. We had six of the great-grandkids there. Alison had a huge feast, Minute To Win It games, and the family famous white elephant game.

We went to church with the Daugs fam, and got to sit with the Jones side of the fam. It was my birthday. Darin and the kids made me breakfast (yellow pancakes), and gave me some gifts. We ate the famous cake after church, and then headed to Devin's house for his annual Christmas prime rib dinner. (He's kind of like the Grinch who ends up carving the roast beast!) He is a chef for sure, and it was great to get to see some Jones family!
Merry Christmas Family!!
