Today was our first day of freedom from school and work for the kids and I. Wahoo! I slept in...aaaahhh! Woke up to the sound of the kids battling it out over some minor thing...not so aaahhh! Logan was off to scouts for an hour. And then we decided to pack up and head to the big city. First thing on the agenda...shop for Daddy Darin. Darin met us at Cabelas to give us a little input. The kids fed the fish many quarters worth of fish food, played with the pop guns enough to drive the entire store crazy, fought and had fun. We scored a few great items with little cash out...thanks to Cabelas points and a coupon. Including a great new pair of Bogs boots for Logan.

After a quick stop at the Scholastic Books warehouse sale, and a not-so-quick stop at Khol's, it was on to Scheels, the new sporting goods store in town. We went there just for the ferris wheel. Awesome indoor ride right in the middle of the store.

Logan saw the big outdoor animal display and said, "Hey, they are trying to copy Cabellas!".
Merry ChrisMOOSE!!

Dinnertime found us at City Creek, where we met up with Darin again. We hit the food court and then braved the cold night outdoors. Below freezing all day today. Brrr!!
I was looking forward to seeing the "candy windows" at Macy's. They have revived the old ZCMI tradition! This year the theme was something about a big round ball....all the windows had a ball of some sort as the shape for the candy creation. Check out Santa's beard in the pic above...all made of candy canes!

We did the "temple square lights" thing....making all the traditional stops: 10th floor of the JSM building, reflection pool, life-size outdoor nativity, visitiors centers, etc.
Happy Holiday Traditions from Utah!
