This fall has been the first season that Ellie has taken jazz dance. Last night was her first jazz dance recital. Her class did a cute group dance to the song, "Fa la la". She is loving jazz.
She really enjoyed seeing all the other performances too. The girls were able to sit in the auditorium and watch the other classes perform. During the ballet, Nutcracker, the girls are required to stay in another area while they are not on stage. The Nutcracker is a much more formal event, which I love and prefer. But this girl likes the action and fun energy at last nights performance. Ellie's favorite dance to watch was the teen girls Hip-Hop. Of course it was...they have some serious attitude in that dance!! We saw jazz, hip hop, cheer, tumbling, solos, and lyrical dances.

I feel like we will soon be at a bit of a crossroads with Ellie as far as what she wants to participate in, in the dance world. I'd love for her to stick with just ballet. Her top choice is to stick with gymnastics, and jazz is her second choice. You can see we have a bit of negotiating to do.

she is such a beautiful girl!! I think I actually missed her dance by being out in the hall with my kids but I am sure she did an AMAZING job!!
