Counting down the days...???

I have exactly 15 school days left with my kindergarten class. No!! I am NOT counting down the days! I hate it that our year is almost over. I love my class. Really a lot!! I have such a GREAT class this year. Maybe I'll say that every year. I said it last year, and meant it, but this year it's just even more true! Weekdays 9:00-11:45 has been my saving grace this year. And FYI--my students are so stinkin' off the charts brilliant! We are slowly redefining kindergarten, and this group has set the bar high. It almost wears me out to think about having another group next year do as well. Makes me need a nap!! Last week we started learning songs for graduation and three kids cried. Three! How am I possibly supposed to keep it together when these little tykes are already crying? I have to fake that I'm all happy and excited that they get to go to first grade. Boo-hoo!! We will savor these last 15 days! Teachers are given three days to have a substitute, so we can do assessments. No! Way! I can't do it! This close to the end of the year, there is no way I'm turning my class over to a sub for three days! Thank goodness I have awesome parent helpers who help me get the endless required testing done.....cause I'm not giving three days up with my kinder-kids. Nope! I'm just a control freak like that. And besides......I REALLY like my class!
