Saturday morning at the Park City condo. Darla took Mel over to the outlets to shop so the rest of us could get ready for the shower. It was super fun to plan all the little details and make it all adorable. We went with a yellow and gray theme to match the nursery colors.

Delicious luncheon prepared by the talented Emily. Homemade tomato-basil soup and spinach strawberry salad.

I'd never tried this dirty diaper game at a baby shower before....and it was the bomb! (Name that melted candy bar.)

Yellow blanket was crocheted by Grandma Marilyn, as she has been driving around in Kosovo on her mission. We were all so surprised and excited that she learned how to crochet!!
On the shower invite, we asked everyone to bring their favorite children's book to give to Mel and baby Mae. Marilyn had someone get this one out to give..."Little Hiawatha". It was Fodie's favorite book when he was little, and this is actually the very same copy of the book that Marilyn used to read to him. I LOVE gifts passed down like this!

Mel with some of her baby loot. She had to fly home, so we gave her a gift card to buy a larger gift....I think crib.
The point of this whole girls weekend was to celebrate this amazing woman soon becoming a MOMMY!! I am so excited for Fodie and Mel to be parents and to learn first hand what it's like to, as they say, "have your heart walking around outside your body." They will be great! We are so, so excited to meet little Princess Fodette!! I mean, Little Miss Mae!!
