So, these are Kinnex (is that even how you spell it??). These were a Christmas present for Shari's boys when they were little. Shari hauled them out of the basement for Darin and Logan to build. It's a big roller-coaster set. A couple of hours later, Andrew and Jeff were totally into it, reliving their childhoods. After my kids went to bed that night, the big boys brought it all downstairs and worked on it for hours into the night--until it was done!! Shari even got in on the action. It was just so funny to me to listen to them all working on it, like they were ten years old again. So, they got the whole thing together....but the actual car that runs on the tracks, was missing parts. We still kept the roller-coaster in tact for a few days to admire though. So funny.
Shari and Jeff were the main chefs for the big feast. Ellie helped with the olives, homemade cranberry sauce, decorating, and carving the turkey. I helped with the pies and rolls and misc. stuff. While waiting for the feast, we ate Jeff's fabulous appetizers--stuffed mushrooms and bacon-wrapped-cream-cheese-filled-dates. Weird, but good. I love how laid back the Whyte's do Thanksgiving Day. No rushing about!!! Enjoying the day of baking, playing games, watching movies, etc. The big meal ends up being a late dinner. Perfect!!
Just before it got dark on Thanksgiving Day, we headed down to the water to listen to Andrew play his bagpipes. SO VERY COOL!! We walked along the water and watched the ferries come and go. Truffles, Andrew's dog, howls and sings to the bagpipes. It is so funny!! She also does this in the house when anyone plays the piano.
