As I was looking through old photos recently, I thought of doing a post of all of Ellie's dance performances so far. They unofficially started way back when she was three and she loved to perform for family members. The pic on the left is at the Jones family reunion of 2007, and the pic on the right is her at the Jones family reunion 2011.
I have the feeling dance and dance-related things are going to snowball pretty quickly over the next few years. So I'd better recapture these beginning years before we are in a whirlwind of leaps and spins and "Go Team" chants. (Not included in this post are pictures of Ellie's involvement in gymnastics at age four and gymnastics at age seven. As well as a cheer camp last summer and cheer lessons this summer.)

First official dance lessons. Age four. Grantsville Dance. Tap and ballet lessons.

At age six we enrolled Ellie in The Lakepointe Academy, which is now called The Dance Centre. She has taken ballet for three years with Miss Elisse as her teacher. Fabulous teacher!! This costume and dance had a little jazz mixed in, and they performed to the song, "Shake your tail feather". In the middle pic she was performing at Deseret Peak Days.
Age six, 2009, first grade. Pics taken at the dance studio. We were filming a dance she created on her own for the school Reflections contest. The music was from The Nutcracker, and she won the top award at our school and went on to the district level.
Age seven, 2010, The Nutcracker. (Note: Age six, 2009, Nutcracker performance, Ellie was home with strep.) Her class were the Dolly dancers and performed during the big party scene.
Fall 2011, age eight. Photos and dance practice for school Reflections contest. Ellie choreographed her own dance to "I am His daughter". She won a top award at our school. She borrowed the ballet dress from Ashley Sizemore, an older dancer in the company that she really admires.

Holidays 2011, age eight, The Nutcracker. Ellie was the baby mouse and a party girl. Pictured her with her amazing teacher, Miss Elisse.
She's been officially dancing for five years. It is so amazing to watch her dance. She is in her element. Ballet is her forte', and she has an internal need to flit and float and leap and trirl and mover her body in all ways graceful. They say a background in ballet is essential for all dancers who intend to go far. I think this year we will be dealving into the world of Jazz dance as well. We've put off the cometition team option one more year, since she hasn't had Jazz experience yet. We'll see what the next five years bring. Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be beautiful! How could it not be?!
She's our ballerina girl!!
