Since Darin and I had plans to attend the Glenn Miller Show with the Jones family (See previous post.), we decided to make a weekend get-away out of it. Darin started the weekend off early by bringing me these amazing flowers after work on Thursday.

Friday after my morning kindergarten class, I checked the kids out of school and we all headed to the Brigham temple open house. We were worried it would be packed on a Friday afternoon, and we had heard of people waiting in line for three hours to get in!! But we walked right on in. No wait at all. It was so good to walk through the temple with the kids. I love it that this temple is in Brigham now. We drive through there every time we go visit family....and it is amazing and so beautiful to see the temple there now!!

After the open house tour they serve cookies and water. I think it's so cool that the water bottles are labeled for the temple open house.

After the temple, Alison met up with us to take the kiddos to her place for the weekend for us. THANK YOU SONNY!!! I grabbed all these collages from Alison's blog. The kids had a blast playing, doing nails, making pizza, going to a movie, and pretty much just having a blast at Ammon and Alison's sprawling plantation!

Meanwhile, Darin and I had two nights alone in two different hotels. We loved relaxing, shopping, eating out, staying up late, and going to the Glenn Miller show. Sunday morning Darin picked the kids up at Ammon and Sonny's place and brought them back to the hotel. They love eating hotel breakfast. And we let them "swim" in the giant in-room hotel spa tub. (They wore their swimming suits.)

Then we headed home in time to make it to our stake conference this afternoon. Since then today has been naps and chilling out. Perfect weekend for sure. Do we HAVE to go back to real life tomorrow?
