Let the 11th celebrations begin!!

Last night we hosted Logan's and Ellie's 11th birthday party with their friends. It's over a week early....and I think it will be partying on and off until after their official birthday! Tomorrow they want to go spend some of their gift cards. Friday they bring birthday treats to school. And for their actual birthday...SPRING VACATION! Wahoo! We help their combined birthday party at The Tooele Gymnastics Academy gym. They have a party room available to set things up. I kept it all pretty simple for my own sanity....and because the kids just want to play in the gym, of course. Since we won't be celebrating with a party at home this year (we'll be on vacation) we brought the traditional balloon birthday wreath from grandma Jones, with us to this party!
This gym is fabulous! It's huge and has so much equipment and fun stuff!
I had no idea how many kids to expect....they invited a bazillion kids! So I opted out of the traditional party favor bags and we did this instead. It worked out great. All the guests chose a ball and treats from the basket. And the extra are going straight into my prize box at school!
Here are some of the kids. It wasn't my best night on camera duty.
Such great boys Logan has in his life. Truly a blessing!
Ellie had a bunch of friends from school, dance, church and the neighborhood. Such fun girls!!
The girls built elaborate creative houses with all these huge foam things. The boys, much to the girls dismay, did this.....
We mostly invited friends the kids age...but we had to have our Grgich friends!! Logan and Ellie love this family as much as I do! We're so glad they came....Darin and Brad provided some great entertainment and played ball with the boys.
Darin wasn't going to let anyone show him up!!!
Logan has a broken toe. You can see it taped in the picture. He broke it several weeks ago and has been wearing a boot to help protect it. This was the first time he went without the boot! Lovely....he probably rebroke it! We booked this place for the party BEFORE he broke his toe!
Boys on the floor. I'd never heard of this. They say "hit the deck" and the last one on the floor has to be "it". Is that a common thing? What ever happened to eenie-meenie-minie-mo?
Time for cake...er....DONUTS!!! These kids all sang LOUD! It was awesome! And as for the donuts....I said I was keeping it simple. Hey, for me this is gourmet....it's not the usual stack of Twinkies!
Ellie's little friend Hannah gave her this ballet bank and little lamb. It's Ellie's favorite gift! So thoughtful of them to give her something ballet. Hannah's mom, Kristi, works at the school with me, so the girls play before school, and during teacher meeting times. Love this little Hannah!
We ended up bringing presents home to open them, because we had a limited amount of time to play in the gym and have the party room. The kids received so many fun gifts. And gift cards. And cash!! Holy smokes! Very thoughtful friends and spoiled birthday kids!! Ellie will save her money...she is good at that!
Logan's cash will burn a huge hole in his pocket. He has asked us for a new Wii game for his birthday....and you better believe he's buying it himself now!
Another great friends birthday party planned and hosted. This was SO easy! And they opted to have it combined....so there was only ONE party!! Let's do a repeat next year! Thanks to everyone who came to help Logan and Ellie celebrate. It reminds me how lucky we are to live here and have so many wonderful friends!
